Amid the seven tilal and eight duars

Lay comfort and refuge in the cracks and crevices

Those scorn by the downfalls of their past land

Those denied freedom to their higher power

Those without a home.

A home is found in the tilals and duars

A harmony among the surrounding chaos

A well-deserved sigh in a time of travesties

A refuge for those escaped from their stolen and broken lands

Where the Christian God and Muslim Allah

Can exist as one

As they were always meant to.

Andreah Harris is a student at Northeastern University, and is studying abroad on the Amideast Intensive Arabic Program in Jordan this Summer, 2023.
