"My Favorite City in Morocco: Chefchaouen" by Isabella Dominique

"My Favorite City in Morocco: Chefchaouen" by Isabella Dominique

I have been studying in Morocco for about eight weeks now. Every weekend (with the exception of one), I have been traveling to various cities within the country. I have been to Tangier, Marrakesh, Fes, Casablanca, Merzouga (the desert), and Chefchaouen. However, my absolute favorite city thus far was Chefchaouen. Here are some photos of our adventure.

This is the view from our beautiful Aibnb! From the rooftop, we were able to see the sun set over the breathtaking mountains and the city of Chefchaouen. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019

Here is another view from our Airbnb! Just stunning. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019

We spent the first evening wandering around the Medina. The main square (pictured here in the daytime) was full of amazing restaurants with great food and prices. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019

The following morning, we went on a 4.5-hour long hike through the mountains. It first entailed a 30 (or so) minute taxi ride to get to the bottom of the mountain and then we thankfully found a tour guide who helped us find our way. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019

Along the way, we discovered a small waterfall! We stopped here to take photos and to rest a bit. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019

We knew we reached our destination when we found this massive waterfall! Our guide told us that normally the water fall is much larger, but due to little rainfall in Morocco there was not much water. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019

The last morning, we made our way back into the Medina to explore the blue city. This was my favorite part. Photo credit: Dominique, 2019
