This was one of our first experiences outside the AMIDEAST building and we were able to catch a glance of the sunset over the city from the top of the Roman Amphitheater! As a frequent traveler, one of my favorite things to do is watch the sun set over a city, especially after a long day of studying Arabic. Although the sun sets early here (around 5 pm in the winter), it’s always a fun idea to find a study spot where you have a view of the city while the sun goes down. Kanafeh is a cheese-filled pastry that is extremely popular in Jordan and after we all tried it, we can tell why! It was so good that we even went back for more the next night. Sometimes the best way to get to know a new place is to get lost, and we had a great time doing just that. As a serious coffee addict, I’m overwhelmed by my options. I might just find a new study spot every day this semester! Photo credit: Pcolar, 2020
