Regional Studies in French

This semester/academic year program is based in Rabat, Morocco. Students must have a high level of French language proficiency to participate. Students can take between 14 and 17 credits per semester.

Academic Overview:

  • Moroccan Arabic (3 credits) - required
  • Modern Standard Arabic (5 credits) - optional
  • Elective Regional Studies Courses (3 credits each) taught in French, including the option of the Community-based Learning course with a placement in French. Recent courses have drawn from Francophone Literature, History, Middle East & North African Studies, Political Science, Religion, Sociology & Women's Studies.

The fall term runs from late August to mid-December and the spring term starts in mid-January and ends in early May. Participants will live with French-speaking host families.
