AMIDEAST Education Abroad Programs in the Arab World is committed to providing financial assistance to students with demonstrated financial need. Funding is available only to US citizens on AMIDEAST Education Abroad Programs. Awards will be made only to students who submit a completed scholarship application and a complete program application by the established deadlines.
These are made in the form of a program fee reduction and normally range between $500 and $5,000. Scholarships are awarded based on demonstration of financial need such as financial aid information provided from the home institution and an essay from the applicant.
Deadlines for application:
These are awarded to students on semester/academic year programs in Jordan & Morocco and to one student on the summer program in Tunisia. Each student selected participates as a correspondent from their host country. They will receive $1,000 (semester) or $500 (summer) toward their AMIDEAST program in the form of a tuition reduction.
The deadlines are the same as Needs-based Scholarships. Check out our home page for posts from previous recipients!
Institutional financial aid and/or scholarships may be used for the semester/academic year programs. Federal Financial Aid (Perkins Loans, SSIG Grant Program, Pell Grants, FSEOG Grants, Stafford Loans, SLS Loans, PLUS Loans, and Consolidation Loans) also can generally be used for study abroad programs. Get in touch with your study abroad or financial aid office to determine which awards could help support your time abroad.
There are a number of external scholarships that can be applied to AMIDEAST programs, including the Gilman Scholarship Program, Boren Awards for International Study, the Diversity Network Summer Scholarship, the Fund for Education Abroad, and STA Travel Scholarships.
