All they serve is falafel and accoutrements, and it’s a little bit شعبي, but it is so good, and usually only ends up being about 2-3 JD per person. This is the Lotus lazy cake (cheesecake). Photo credit: Yee, 2019 View fullsize Spread from Tammouz in Weibdeh. Clockwise from the top, pesto hummus, kebbeh, tabbouleh, galayet bandora (stewed tomatoes with walnuts), bread, makdous (mini pickled eggplants stuffed with walnuts), and mutabal. A lot of places do this delicious spread just as well as Tammouz, but I put this one here specifically because it’s the only place I’ve ever seen with pesto hummus, and that, my friends, is a must-try. Malfuf, maqluba, mulukhiyah, mujadara… even spaghetti carbonara and lo mein; she could do it all, and it was all amazing. Photo credit: Yee, 2019 View fullsize Breakfast spread from my host mom. Imagine waking up to this every day? I was truly blessed. Photo credit: Yee, 2019
