A breezy button down and some fitted jeans (both thrift store purchases) were a go-to for me, great for warm days and cool nights, and fit right in on Rainbow Street. Photo credit: Yee, 2019

A loose, flowy shirt is a must-have for sightseeing and excursions that involve walking in the hot sun. Think coverage and breathability; you’ll thank yourself when you’re hiking up an ancient amphitheater in the blazing sun. This lil’ number is the Walmart sleepwear collection, for classy people only. Shorts are all good in some of the more touristy locations! This was taken on the way to Wadi Mujib. Both the shirt and shorts are thrifted, of course. Photo credit: Yee, 2019

A little disingenuously for this post’s title, this photo was taken in Jerusalem over fall break. A nice breezy maxi dress with a lot of coverage is a good item to have on hand, and actually quite conducive to days with a lot of walking and sightseeing. Obviously it’s thrifted, who do you think you’re talking to? Photo credit: Yee, 2019

Wadi Rum is the most beautiful place I have ever been, but wow the weather is unpredictable. The temperature dropped like a rock during the night, and I was grateful for my leather jacket (thrifted… have you learned nothing?) and keffiyeh. The best place to buy a keffiyeh is Wasat al-Balad, where they cost between 2-5 JD. Photo credit: Yee, 2019
