Hello everyone! My name is Achol Otto (also known as Nosa) and I am a junior at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts. I created my own major in International Development to meet my interests in how countries are able to develop themselves through a business lens.

I am South Sudanese and was born in Egypt, then moved to America when I was 4. I grew up listening to my parents speak Sudanese Arabic and can understand most of it but lost my confidence to speak the language when I moved to America and had to learn English. That is why I decided to minor in Arabic in college to relearn my mother tongue and strengthen my connection with my culture and identity. So far, many of the colloquial dialect used in Sudan is similar to the Aamia dialect used here in Jordan as well, so that has been reassuring in my time spent learning and growing my knowledge in Arabic.

Beyond studying, I love music, dancing, and photography. So, Iā€™m excited to see the fun and exciting activities and places that Jordan has to offer!

Shukran,

Nosa
